Paper Worthy Company was founded in 2020 by Alicia Wood from a hobby near and dear to her heart, bookbinding. She combines the world of textiles and paper to create unique stationery products, all handmade with love.
There’s power in putting your thoughts on paper. Paper Worthy Company aims to be the space where people feel most comfortable putting their personal thoughts and encouraging others to do the same.
About
Alicia Wood is a Product Designer who has a fascination with textiles and paper. Her father was an upholsterer and exposed her to the art of working with your hands and creating physical products. It was not until many years after her father passed away and having established a career in tech, that she gravitated towards bookbinding.
Alicia is a black female Canadian designer currently living in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband and toddler. She’s a wife, mom, believer, designer, maker, and entrepreneur.
“I’ve always loved notebooks. Stationery has always been my thing, but I never imagined I’d be making paper products. I’ve worked in fintech for so long and I needed another creative outlet that would fulfill a need to create in ways my full time career could not. So here I am today, working with my hands and being reminded every time I touch fabric, the joy my father must have felt when he did the thing he loved most...to make.”
